SAN DIEGO – Tomorrow, Councilmember Vivian Moreno (District 8) will host a Community Vaccination Event in San Ysidro, along with Family Health Centers of San Diego and the San Diego Latino Equity Council.
Similar to a vaccination event held last month in Barrio Logan, Councilmember Moreno and volunteers have walked door-to-door to over 2,500 homes in the San Ysidro community this week, providing information for people needing help making vaccination appointments, and hoping to help increase engagement and assist with technology and language barriers.
Family Health Centers of San Diego is providing vaccinations and vaccinators along with volunteer nurses from the Sweetwater Union High School District. Food for the volunteers is generously being donated by Urban Plates in La Jolla via the California Restaurant Association, and waters donated by Generosity Water. Additional assistance, along with hosting the vaccination site was provided by the San Ysidro School District.
