Councilmember Moreno and WILDCOAST host Tijuana River Valley Cleanup

 SAN DIEGO – Tomorrow, in recognition of the 37th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day and Tijuana River Action Month, Councilmember Vivian Moreno and volunteers will join WILDCOAST for a cleanup in Smugglers Gulch, located in the Tijuana River Valley. 

For decades, in addition to the toxic, untreated sewage flowing across the international border, significant amounts of plastic, tires and sediment cross into the Tijuana River Valley. Last year, Councilmember Moreno hosted a cleanup at this location and enough trash and debris was picked up to fill three trucks. 

Who: Councilmember Vivian Moreno, WILDCOAST, and volunteers 

What: Coastal Cleanup 

When: Saturday, September 18 from 9AM-11AM 

Where: Smugglers Gulch, 2100 Monument Road, San Diego, CA 92154 -open lot north of Monument Road and east of Smugglers Gulch, signs will be posted.
